Go Wild! Summer Reading 2026
Check out all of the Kershaw County summer reading information in one location:
This summer, Camden Middle School students are encouraged to “Go Wild” with books through the Kershaw County School District and Kershaw County Library Summer Reading Program!
Middle school students are participating in the “Strive for Five” challenge by reading 5 books over the summer. Students should record each book title on their reading log and return the completed log to the school library in August to earn a reading reward from CMS.
Students can also take their reading log to the Kershaw County Library to participate in special summer events and receive a free book to keep!
This year’s summer reading theme celebrates The Wild Robot by Peter Brown and encourages students to explore nature, friendship, and community through reading. Students may read The Wild Robot or any books of their choice. Reading can be tracked using the Beanstack app or a paper reading log from school or the library.

- Go Wild! Messtival – May 30, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM at Nature as Teacher Preserve
- Go Wild! Summer Reading Celebration: All About Nature – June 20, 11:00 AM–5:00 PM at the Revolutionary War Visitor Center
- SC Aquarium: From Mountains to the Sea – July 23 at KCL Elgin and KCL Camden
